The Children’s Coordinator operates as an extension of the Senior Minister, directing the implementation of the vision and ministry plan of Central Community Christian Church to the ministry and support staff, including coordinating strategic planning, oversight of ministry personnel goals, and formulation of operational policies and procedures.
The Children’s Coordinator should coordinate ministry to children through either hands-on or appropriately delegated methods to establish, guide, and nurture a solid ongoing Biblical foundation. This foundation should equip not only the child, but also their families, in developing the appropriate Christian worldview, lifestyle and personal relationship with Christ. Moreover, in an increasingly age-segregated society, we seek through this ministry to build and affirm intergenerational bonds. We believe God has placed all of us, regardless of age, in his spiritual family so we might mutually support and encourage each other. We want to be known as a church where all ages are cherished, and opportunities are created for mutual service and love between the generations.
The primary responsibility of the Children’s Coordinator, therefore, is to work with the elders, deacons, teachers, and parents to plan and implement programs and activities for kids, birth-5th grade, and their families.
On a secondary basis, and as time permits, the Children’s Coordinator will also assist other staff members in such ministry areas as evangelism, visitation, involvement, administration, and other areas of work as set forth in this job description or as directed by the elders.
