IV.  I Must Be Baptized To Be Saved.
 
         A.  What is baptism for?
               1.  For the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38)
               2.  To wash away my sins. (Acts 22:16)
               3.  To save us. (I Peter 3:21; Mark 16:15, 16)
               4.  To answer a good conscience toward God. (I Peter 3:21)
               5.  To put us into Christ. (Romans 6:3-Salvation in Christ – Colossians 1:14)
               6.  To put on Christ. (Galatians 3:26, 27)
               7.  To put us into his death where we contact the blood. (Romans 6:4)
         B.  Which Baptism?–Holy Spirit or water?
               1.  There were two baptisms on the day of Pentecost.
                    (a.)  The apostles were baptized in the Holy Spirit.
                    (b.)  The 3000 were baptized in water. (Acts 2)
               2.  Two baptisms at the household of Cornelius.
                    (a.)  First baptized in the Holy Spirit.
                    (b.)  This happened before they heard the word by which they were to be saved. (Acts 11: 14, 15)
                    (c.)  They were commanded to be baptized in water. (Acts 10:47, 48)
               3.  In Ephesians 4:5–(later Paul says “One Baptism.”)
                    (a.)  He baptized in water (I Corinthians 1:14, 15; Acts 8:38.) No man can be baptized in the spirit.
                           (Only Jesus can do this) (John 1:33, 34)
                    (b.)  The baptism of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19, 20) is to be done by men and is to last to the end
                            of the world, therefore, the one baptism is “water baptism.”
          C.  How am I to be baptized?

               3.  A planting. (Romans 6:5)
               4.  A resurrection. (Romans 6:5)(A new birth)
 

  V.   I Must Live My Life For Christ To Be Saved.

          A.  Remain faithful to Christ.  (John 15: 4-6)
          B.  Christ remains faithful to us.  (I John 2: 24, 25)
          C.  Commit to Christ no matter what the circumstances.  (II Corinthians 6: 4-10)
          D.  Strengthened by Christ’s power.  (Colossians 1: 11)
          E.  Endure to receive the promise.  (Philippians 4: 13; Hebrews 10: 36; 12: 1; II Timothy 2: 12; 4: 5)
          F.  Endure to the end to be saved.  (Matthew 10: 22; 24: 13)
